Hanging Friend

Marley
Things that worked well. Doing my nose went well because I paper mached my nose with my face then painted my nose red. The thing that didn't go well is that my legs had to be hot glue gunned on last and in the end I was last finished.

Super Bowl

“3, 2, 1 GO” the lifeguard says. Kath and I fly down the icky green coloured slide as my stomach reaches my mouth. In a matter of moments we whizz out of the tube, I forget my fear.

The unbearable sunlight is blinding but I’m having too much fun. As we approach the daunting, almost vertical tunnel the water circles around the air inflated tube like sharks snapping at snapper.

VROOM! We slip and slide until the end. KERRSPLOSH!!
Water flies everywhere as we come to an almighty STOP!

Pirates in Picton

Whoops I tumbled through a gap in the mooring line. “Arghh!”quick as a shot gun I grabbed the rope. I scrambled up onto the deck. The captain announced! “start rigging.” “Eye eye captain” I called. I went up to the bow of the ship. “I think it is going to be a bumpy ride!” I predicted.

Lonnekers

I pulled and heaved my wetsuit on. The hood
was like a tight helmet. Oooaaaeee rrroooeee I heaved my booties on and then my flexible flippers go over them. I am ready. I jump into the water as if I was a leaping seal. I swim around as if I am a fearful shark. It is deep a shiver comes up my spine a piece of seaweed slithers past my face. I scrambled in as if I was drowning. I swim into the shallow. I am safe!

The Chiller

As I am climbing the chiller the fear in me is making me shake with every move I make. I begin to get chills running down my spine. When I reach the top of the chiller I sprint to the end of the chiller and jump as high and as far as I possibly can. I am yelling all the way down...and time suddenly stops it feels like I am free falling with style in slow mo.
I hit the water with a bomb exploding splash. I am under water for a long time I think I might drown. Thanks to my 6mm wet suit I float back to the surface I stick my head right out of the water. With relief I suck in huge amounts of air. I see a glimpse of the others as they hit the water with an enormous splash. Mini waves splashed under the wharf. The three of us swam to the beach with what strength we had left. I pushed my self to the limit and went at top speed I was coming first and beating every one else. I was gliding across the water I felt the warmth of my wet suit. Stopping and floating on top of the water I had never felt so relaxed in my life. As we got to the sunny beach we rested and later we went back home for a nice beautiful hot shower.

Boggie board

The sun shone the waves splashed as I jumped onto my boggie board. Smash smash smash as I raced through the clear salty sea then BANG a wave smashed against my boggie board. I soar through the water. The rough sand flies through my hair then splash I land flat on the sand.

Speedway

As we rev our engines the elastic is stretching tighter & tighter. PING!! I dropped the clutch and rammed the accelerator. I speed off sliding around the first corner. I speed down the straight. The second corner is approaching, throttle full I slowly turn the bike. I was sliding and dirt is flying. I am in 2nd place. Our bikes are screaming now. As I approach the corner I am starting to slide. I turn the throttle one too many revs. I slide out.  The bike turned off.  I rise up and grab the clutch and heave the bike into the middle of the track. I am so disappointed.

Hydro sliding

“Man this is so tiring.” We are sprinting up the endless stairs. I look out the side I feel dizzy.
Finally I get to the top. There is a fabulously fast slide and an old man slow slide “I’m going on the fast one!” I shout. I slipped and slid. Wow wow the tunnel curved and I shot out the end! I hit the water with a tremendous splash!

The Christmas Hangi

The Christmas Hangi
Wooosh! A blast of hot steam puffed out like a train as we took off the hot sheets. We heaved out the wire case. There were cabbage leaves on the bottom so the Hangi didn't burn. There were colourful roast veggies and the most tenderest juiciest wild pork ever mixed together with a smell of manuka.

Thunder Waves!

The huge wave towered high above the boat. It sped across the astonishingly big wave and went straight into the powerful cool air. The boat crashed back into the rolling safe sea as I sighed with relief!

Mac challenge

I am doing the Outdoors Mac Challenge.  For this challenge I pitched a two person tent and calculated
the area of the floor, the pitch of the roof and calculated the surface area of the roof and walls and calculated the volume of air in the tent. I used a tape measure to measure all the sides then a calculator to work out the exact calculations.   I have completed this challenge and this is the result...

PETER PAN

Peter Pan
The spotlight beams down on me.  I play my guitar.  A minor, G, A minor, yes the overture finishes and it sounded fantastic. The applause is thunderous.
Poppy's recorder rings in my ears as the curtains open to the first actors.
It looked magnificent. Then it’s my turn, knee's trembling, heart thumping.
I quietly tiptoed backstage...
Once on stage I felt amazing. I look at the audience and speak loud and clear. I give my mum some of my terrible, terrible pirate soup. Everyone laughed.  My favorite
part is when it is only me, Jahdan and McKenzie are on ‘Marooner’s Rock’.
The next day we felt like stars, we even got fan mail.  WOW.
Sadly Mary and Lisa had to leave OHHHHHHHH.
I can’t wait to see what play we do next time...

Harry's Peter Pan story

Marley's Peter Pan story

Da da da da da da da da da da da the overture starts, the show begins. At the moment I am backstage. I get ready to go out on stage. I feel like I am going to pee my pants. I can hear Lisa (Lisa is the director of Peter Pan and a drama expert) saying. “Don’t worry Marley (Which is me A.K.A Peter Pan) you will be great.” The curtain opens and I'm ready for my cue. Now I jump on stage and look at the audience. I say my first line “Er er er er errrrrrr!!!!!!!!!” I feel like I can do anything right now.
When I jump off stage I look at all my school friends they look so amazing in their costumes. I watch my friends take it away down in the audience. Everybody worked so hard for this show. Now it’s my turn to get back up on stage. I am not nervous like I was before. It now feels like the audience is not even there.
Sweet it’s my favorite part. The last battle. Captain Hook and Peter Pan have a magnificent duel. Captain Hook swoops there and Peter Pan swipes there but Peter Pan just beats Captain Hook and lets the Crocodile have a feast.
The show ends with an amazing curtain call all the actors take a bow. We sing Neverland and Lost Boys. We can hear thunderous applause. I can not even hear my voice.
Everyone goes back to school and gets changed. I never thought I could do this but I did. I am very proud of myself and all the other kids. We did a magnificent job. BUT now I have something else I have to worry about GETTING MY MAKEUP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PETER PAN!

Peter Pan!
“I can do this I can do this!” I said to myself.  When I ran out on stage I felt scared to my stomach with butterflies. So there I was sitting with the Indian warriors  by the fire warming ourselves while princess Tiger Lily was showing the Indians the dance. It felt soooo good to be on stage with an amazing audience. The warriors dance strongly off stage behind Tiger Lily “woo, woo, woo”. The audience gave us a strong round of applause. It felt so good to get the play over and done with.”No more learning my lines, no more practicing and no more stage fright for 4 years! Its over for this amazing year.”

Peter Pan Sophie!

Heart thumping, blood pumping, mind racing, going over my lines. I’m nervously waiting backstage for my cue and going over the horror of mucking up. I feel sick to my stomach.

I walk onstage. The adrenaline washes over me like a five meter wave. I say to myself “You can do this” ... Peter springs onstage... his eyebrows are a lot BIGGER than I remember.

The audience blows towards us..... WE ARE FLYING!
I sneak off to join the band when Peter, Tink and my two bros Michael and John bound on stage. Hawawawa hawawawa! The Indians bounce on stage like a box of GIANT JELLY BEANS! The band starts to play the Indian Chant. Then the crazy, kooky Pirates waddle on. They are hilarious and fabulous. I get to smash, bash and crash the deafening CYMBALS in The Pirate Song!

Oops! .. Oops! I go backstage twice before I really have to!
Ttwwiirrll. I collapse in the middle of Lost Boys who are dancing around and they are so happy they shot me!? Peter bounds on stage annoyed that his troop injured me, Finally some respect!
